ESPN Begins NASCAR Sprint Cup Coverage at Indianapolis: ESPN begins its telecasts of the final 17 races of the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season with the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, July 28. NASCAR Countdown airs at noon ET with the race’s green flag at 1:19 p.m. The race telecast is presented by Golden Corral. Also from Indianapolis, NASCAR Sprint Cup qualifying on Saturday, July 27, airs on ESPN at 2 p.m. and ESPN2 will air Sprint Cup practice Saturday at 9 a.m. ESPN also will have a live telecast of the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Indianapolis on Saturday. NASCAR Countdown airs at 4 p.m. with the green flag at 4:50 p.m. The race will be the last of four consecutive events that comprise the NASCAR Nationwide Series Dash 4 Cash, a bonus program that will award an extra $100,000 to the highest-finishing of four eligible drivers in each of the four designated races. NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Jimmie Johnson will visit the ESPN booth during the race.
